(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran is very cheerful for the Iraqi military achievements gained in counter-terrorism efforts.
Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with his visiting Iraqi counterpart Salim al-Jabouri on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada that started on Tuesday for two days.
Describing Iraq as a big and vital country in the region, Larijani underscored that the problems created for that country are due to its position.
Iranian parliament speaker also expressed hoped that the war in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul would be halted in the near future, and Iraq would get rid of the terrorists.
Touching upon Tehran-Baghdad cooperation, Larijani said the two sides should remove certain economic obstacles to their bilateral relations.
Al-Jabouri, for his part, said Iraqi victories are beholden to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its aids.
Commenting on Tehran's Intifada conference, Al-Jabouri said that holding such a gathering will benefit all Islamic countries.
