A political analyst told that blaming the Iraqi government for the ongoing crisis in the country is a conspiracy against the country.
During an interview, Sa’ad al-Muttalibi, from the State of Law Coalition said pointing the finger of blame at "the elected [Iraqi] government ... is part of the world conspiracy against Iraq.”
The analyst pointed out that Iraqis in some areas in northern Iraq with certain political backgrounds were responsible for “collaborating or providing” assistance to the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) militants.
“There are political entities and media entities from the West in particular and the United States trying to show that it was the Iraqi constitution and the Iraqi elected government behind the” current situation, Muttalibi added.
However, he added that the Iraqi forces now “are moving at a steady pace and al-Qaeda is being destroyed base after base.”
On June 10, the ISIL militants took control of Mosul, which was followed by the fall of Tikrit, located 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of the capital, Baghdad. Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced out of their homes since then.
The ISIL militants have vowed to continue their raid toward the capital, Baghdad.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country, denouncing the Al Saud regime as a major supporter of global terrorism.
