Maurer ended his three-day visit to Tehran today. During his stay in the capital, he met Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Iranian officials, discussing humanitarian issues and implementation of international humanitarian law.
This was Maurers second trip to Tehran after he was elected as president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in August 2012.
