(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “Based on Islamic teachings, all moves by Takfiris which result in impairing the face of Islam are haram (forbidden),” Ghanem said in an interview with the parliament’s news agency on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Tehran which ended on Wednesday.He underlined the necessity for the further strengthening of unity among Muslims, and said the meeting of the OIC’s Inter-Parliamentary Union was in line with the same goal.Tehran hosted the 9th Meeting of the OIC Inter-Parliamentary Union and the 16th IPU Public Committee meeting with the participation of over 25 parliament speakers, 10 vice-speakers and 50 parliamentary delegations from different world states.The Inter-Parliamentary Union of the OIC member-states is composed of the OIC member-states’ parliaments. It was established in Iran on June 17, 1999, with its head office situated in Tehran.The IPU was founded with the membership of some 52 Islamic parliaments and it has established close cooperation with 22 international organizations./149
