(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed, MLA of Delhi Assembly said: “The US’s baseless accusations against Syria are an pretext to justify another neo-colonial war in the region”. He said that since the beginning of the escalation, the US and its allies had been trying military intervention to topple Assad government. But, they failed to convince peace-loving nations, as earlier they (the US and its allies) had used similar pretexts of elimination of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction to attack Afghanistan and Iraq, respectively. “Believing, the world had witnessed the destruction and genocide of innocent people by these bullying powers in Afghanistan and Iraq,” noted Indian Legislature. Mateen further noted that once again the US and its allies wanted to wage a war, this time, against Syria by using the pretext of the alleged use of chemical weapons by the government forces. They have a ploy to topple Assad government and establish the pro-US government to target Iran. The UN must understand their ploy, he added. Maintaining that it is contrary to the fact that the Syrian government used chemical weapons, Indian leader asserted: “The US being adept in military incursion in countries whose rulers are against the hegemony and imperialism, the Obama administration ignoring the facts and beating the drums of chemical weapons usage, to wage another war for his vested goals in the region. Chaudhary Mateen urged the UN to play the pivotal role and exert pressure upon these war mongers. Pressurize them to adhere to international laws. Don’t allow them to push the region into darkness. “Failing with the world will witness another destruction and genocide, might be worse than that of Afghanistan and Iraq,” warned the Indian leader. He also called upon the Indian government and all other peace-loving nations to come out and together raised voice against military incursion into Syria. They should also advocate a political solution for the Syrian conflict through peaceful means./149
