(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Abdel Salam Seyam, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, revealed that the Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki will arrive to the Gaza Strip early next February, in a solidarity visit with the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Seyam told "Palestine" local newspaper on Sunday that "the Gazan government carried out all necessary preparations for the reception of the Tunisian president in the Gaza Strip," asserting that he is "an important guest who has a big influence in the Arab and Muslim world and North Africa ".
He added that the visit will have political and non-political implications on the overall Palestinian situation, and the fraternal relations between the Palestinian and Tunisian peoples, praising the role of the new Tunisian leadership for its support for the Palestinian cause.
Seyam said that the Tunisian president's visit will be preceded by a visit by the Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib during this week, accompanied by a large ministerial delegation, noting that it is the first visit of a Prime Minister from the Islamic countries to the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the talks about the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's visit to the strip cannot be confirmed at present, stressing that the visit of any Arab official to Palestine is welcomed.
