(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Unidentified assailants have carried out an armed attack on a residence owned by a member of the Russian Council of Muftis, a spokesman for Ingushetia's Interior Ministry told Interfax.
"Unidentified gunmen fired shots at about 1:30 a.m. Moscow time on Monday at the house in Nazran where the Council of Muftis' member and envoy to the North Caucasus Isa Khamkhoyev resides," the spokesman said.
No one was injured in the attack. The house was slightly damaged, he said.
A criminal inquiry is likely to be launched into the attack on counts of illegal possession of weapons and inflicting damage on property.
