At least four people were martyred and eight others injured in a sectarian attack in Pakistan's southwest city of Quetta on Thursday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - One source on the spot said that the attack took place at around 8:30 a.m. local time when unknown gunmen opened fire at a Toyota Corolla car on the Spini Road.

There were four people inside the car when it was attacked, the source quoted police as saying, adding the gunmen fled the scene afterward.

Police believed it was a sectarian attack on the minority Shia Muslims, said the source.

The martyred included three passengers in the car and a woman passerby, said the source.
