Allameh Jafari’s Works on Display in Quran Exhibition

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Allameh Jafari has compiled a great number of works on different subjects, including the holy Quran, Nahjul-Balaghah, Ethical principles, man and cosmology, philosophy and discourse, knowledge and mysticism, law, aesthetics, as well as art and literature, most of which have been published and now presented by the center for the compilation and publication of his works.  Some of his books that are now on display in the Quran Exhibition are The Conscience; Ethics and Religion; Philosophy of Life; Man and Creation; Progress and Development in View of the Quran; The Quran as the Symbol of Logical Life; Man’s International Rights in Islam and the West; Art and Aesthetics in View of Islam; Translation and Interpretation of Nahjul-Balaghah; Islamic Mysticism; Life’s Ideals and an Ideal Life; History of Thoughts; and Dynamics of Thoughts.  Also, A Survey of Bertrand Russell’s Ideas; A Study of David Hume’s Theories on Four Philosophical Issues; Mental and Philosophical View of Music; Principles of Education; Proximity of Knowledge and Religion; Determinism and Free Will; Philosophy of Religion; A Research on the Philosophy of Science; Hope and Awaiting; A Critical Interpretation of Masnavi; In the Presence of the Sage (Hakim); and Three Poets (Hafiz, Sa’adi and Nezami) are among other works available at the exhibition.  A number of Allameh’s works have even been translated into English; some of the translated titles are The Mystery of Life; The Conscience, and Positive Mysticism.  A collection of Allameh’s speeches and biography under the titles of “Song of the Sun” and “From Sea to Sea” has also been prepared by the center and is available to interested visitors.  Born in 1923 in a religious family in Tabriz, Allameh Mohammad Taghi Jafari pursued his religious studies in the holy cities of Qom and Najaf, getting his Emulation Degree in 1946. Settled in Tehran, he spent his life teaching in academic centers and occasionally holding scientific debates with eminent scholars of the time including Professor Hesabi and Bertrand Russell. He passed away on November 19, 1998 and was buried in the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).  The 19th International Holy Quran Exhibition is underway in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini (RA) Musalla till August 26, from 5 p.m. until midnight./129
