Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; GAZA -- The PIC correspondent said that tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated on Friday around the Gaza Strip to mark the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada.

In the central Gaza Strip thousands responded to a call by Hamas to demonstrate after the Friday prayers where worshipers from different mosques marched to a meeting point at the junction of Buraij and Nuseirat refugee camps.

As well as marking the tenth anniversary of the Aqsa intifada, the demonstrators expressed support for Palestinian captives in Israeli occupation jails, who are being subjected to a vicious campaign by their respective jail adminstrations.

Sammak said in a statement to PIC that the rallies were also in support of "our people in Jerusalem who are being subjected to a brutal campaign by the Israeli occupation authority with the aim of expelling them from Jerusalem to complete its Judaization."

He added that demonstrators also expressed their rejection of the negotiations between Fatah and the occupation stressing that such negotiations can only result in more losses to the Palestinian people and only benefit the occupation.

In the southern Gaza Strip, thousands responded to a call by the Islamic Jihad. The two Jihad leaders, Muhammad al-Batsh and Mohmmad al-Hindi participated in the demonstration and told the PIC correspondent that the demonstration was to protest the negotiations with occupation  stressing that these negotiations only serve as a cover for the Zionist occupation to violate the Palestinian people's rights.

The two leaders added that resistance was the only option to liberate Palestine from the occupation.
