Winners of “Ramadan” cultural-Quranic contest were honored during a ceremony held on September 25 by the Islamic Charitable Association for Guidance and Reform in Baalbek, Lebanon

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - Winners of “Ramadan” cultural-Quranic contest were honored during a ceremony held on September 25 by the Islamic Charitable Association for Guidance and Reform in Baalbek, Lebanon.

The ceremony was held at the Islamic Center of Baalbek with the presence of head of the union of Baalbek governorates, members of the city's council and a number of scholars and political and social activists.

Addressing the ceremony, Hasan al-Shal one of the officials of the association thanked the organizers of the contest and said the competition was held in six categories one of which was titled 'the way the companions of the prophet (PBUH) treated Ahlul-Bayt (AS).

A message by the city’s mayor was also read out at the function. In his message he said, “We are proud of the association which is actively involved in scientific and cultural activities as well as guiding and reforming the society, and promoting religious issues, patriotism and culture of dialogue, cooperation and justice in society.”

Vice chairman of the association also spoke at the ceremony stressing the importance of culture in the development of societies and clarified historical and civilization status of Baalbek and the role of the city in training eminent scholars.
