Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Speaking in a meeting of a high-ranking delegation from Al-Mustafa University with Ayatollah Abdul Amir Qabalan the vice president of Lebanon’s Higher Shia Council on Thursday, Hojat-ol-Islam Arafi presented a report on the activities and achievements of the university and said over 20,000 students from different countries are studying at the Al-Mustafa International University.
It is an institution specializing in training religious scholars and thinkers in the world, he added.
Directors of a number of Lebanese Islamic institutions were also present at the meeting.
He expressed hope that cooperation between the university and Lebanon’s Islamic centers would expand.
Welcoming the Iranian delegation, Ayatollah Qabalan stressed the need for development of the activities of seminaries and Islamic-scientific centers in order for spreading the lofty teachings of Islam and training elite Muslim scholars.
He also highlighted the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in promoting Islamic teachings and fostering unity and proximity among Islamic schools of thought.
