Tehran, Iran -- This is according to Habibollah Ghafouri, cultural and social deputy of the municipality, who emphasized that renovating and maintaining mosques is one of the main priorities of the municipality.
“Over 3 billion rials has been allocated for the construction, expansion and renovation of the city’s mosques in the current year.”
Pointing to the construction and renovation of Sajedain Mosque as one of the plans of the district for this year, he said that construction of Imam Reza (AS) Mosque in 13 Aban neighborhood has been completed.
He also referred to the old buildings of the mosques in the district adding that one of the main concerns of the local people and the Municipality is that most of these mosques were built in the 1960s and cannot be fully reconstructed in a short period of time.”
