AhlulBayt News Agency: The black flag of the dome of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran, was replaced with a green one.
It came in a ceremony on Saturday after forty days of mourning and sorrow that filled the hearts of the devotees of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) following the martyrdom of Leader of the Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and other martyrs of the Ramadan War.
During the 40 days of mourning, an extensive plan of decorating the mausoleum’s spaces and covering them in black was implemented in different parts of the Holy shrine.
The installation of black inscriptions, flags and cloths in the courtyards, porches and heights of the holy shrine had completely immersed the atmosphere of the mausoleum in an atmosphere of mourning.
As part of this plan, about 60 vertical inscriptions were installed in the central courtyards, and in the other surrounding courtyards, all existing spaces were covered with black vertical inscriptions to create a harmonious appearance of mourning throughout this luminous shrine.
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with a number of senior Iranian commanders, was martyred in the US-Israeli strikes on the first day of the Ramadan War on February 28.
Iranian retaliated by conducting waves of missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets and US bases and assets in the region, forcing the enemy to ask for a ceasefire on April 8.
