Hezbollah: Israel's Massacres Affirm Our Right to Resist

Following Israel's extensive airstrikes on Lebanon, Hezbollah announced in a statement that these attacks reinforce the movement's natural and legal right to respond to aggression.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hezbollah in Lebanon affirmed its right to respond to Israel following a series of bloody airstrikes carried out by the regime against Lebanon, which caused buildings to collapse on their inhabitants, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of people.

The movement stated in a statement that the blood of the martyrs and the wounded will not be in vain.

Hezbollah added, "Today's massacres—like all the brutal aggressions and crimes of the Israeli regime—affirm our natural and legal right to resist occupation and respond to aggression, and will increase our resolve to resist and confront the enemy, defend our people and our country, and protect our security from ongoing aggression."

Lebanon's Civil Defense told Al Arabiya that 254 martyrs and more than 1,129 wounded have been reported as a result of Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon on Wednesday.

The Israeli occupation army claimed that it had carried out a large-scale attack, targeting approximately 100 Hezbollah military headquarters and infrastructure in various areas of Lebanon.

However, Antoine Al-Zoghbi, head of the Lebanese Red Cross, told Al Arabiya that Israel had targeted residential areas in Beirut and the southern suburbs.

He added that many victims remain trapped under the rubble, while hospitals are facing severe overcrowding.

On the other hand, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun had previously announced that Israel's brutal attacks recognize no right and respect no agreement or commitment.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also explained in a message on X that the Israeli attacks targeted residential neighborhoods in various areas of Lebanon, including the capital city of Beirut, resulting in the martyrdom of civilians.
