ABAN24 - The Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, affirmed that the Iraqi people have a special relationship with the supreme religious authority and a positive interaction with its humanitarian directives.
This came during His Eminence's reception of the Hussaini Al-Ghayra gathering from the Zaafaraniya district in the capital, Baghdad, and listening to a detailed explanation from the delegation about their fundraising efforts to support the Iranian and Lebanese peoples.
His Eminence mentioned that "the Iraqi people have a special relationship with the supreme religious authority, and they are known for their positive interaction with every directive issued by it, as happened in the call for aid to the displaced during our war against the ISIS terrorist gangs, in supporting the fighters and the families of the martyrs, and in assisting those affected during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have previously supported the peoples of the region due to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, and they have supported the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in humanitarian crises."
His Eminence explained, "The affected peoples feel psychological support and consolation when they see the Iraqi people donating food and medicine. This is not new for our noble people. Anyone who visits Iraq during the Arbaeen pilgrimage notices this unparalleled generosity and giving. Moreover, the people in Iraq feel that the money and effort expended will be compensated manifold for those who give."
He affirmed that "this is not strange for the noble Iraqi people, because they have lived in hardship during many periods throughout history, and they feel the pain of the deprived and the afflicted. Generosity and selflessness have grown in them over the ages, until they became a model of giving after being nurtured in the school of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)."
His Eminence said: "This solidarity hastens the reappearance of our Master, the Awaited One," praying for the delegation's success and guidance in all that is good.
For his part, member of the Hussaini Loyalty Gathering, Sheikh Saif Al-Rakabi, said: "We feel extremely honored today to meet the representative of the supreme religious authority in Najaf Al-Ashraf, His Eminence Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi."
He added, "We have been working in this association since 2014 when the religious authority called for supporting the displaced due to the attack by ISIS terrorist gangs on Iraq, as well as during the COVID-19 crisis, and we continue to work under the guidance of the religious authority."
He continued by saying: "We learn from the donors every day, some children carried signs postponing their birthdays until victory is declared, and some women donated their wedding rings to support the Lebanese and Iranian people."
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launched a major humanitarian campaign in response to the call of the supreme religious authority to support the Iranian and Lebanese people, and is preparing to send its first relief campaigns to those countries.
