ABNA24 - The Friday Prayer Leader of Mahabad stated that Egypt's Al-Azhar institution must refrain from aligning its intellectual necessities and foundational principles with the self-serving political and governmental frameworks of regional rulers.
He emphasized that the interest of Muslims has always been in following the firm discourse and illuminating keys of the Holy Qur'an as the constitution of all Muslims.
Mamousta Abdulsalam Emami, the Friday Prayer Leader of Mahabad, issued a statement regarding Al-Azhar's recent declaration on the aggressive war waged by hegemonic powers against the Islamic homeland. The text of the statement is as follows:
Dear Iran has always been relentless in its pursuit of good neighborly relations, solidarity, and rapprochement with Islamic countries. It has consistently worked to strengthen unity and elevate dialogue based on defending the oppressed, providing moral support to the Muslim ummah at large, and achieving the cause of Palestine. Throughout this path, Iran has chosen and upheld adherence to international law and respect for the sovereignty of nations as the most important doctrine of its international conduct.
However, in bringing this matter to the attention of the audience, I would like to draw a point regarding Al-Azhar's previous statement condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime and the United States in the 12-day aggressive war. Iran, following the same path of struggle and defensive approach as before, continues its defense—but now within a more comprehensive and substantial framework characterized by broader scope and deeper solidarity.
In this regard, I invite the influential and comprehensive institution of Al-Azhar to adopt this perspective: that it must refrain from connecting its intellectual necessities and foundational principles to the self-serving political and governmental frameworks of regional rulers. The interest of Muslims has always been, and remains, in following the firm discourse and the illuminating keys of the Holy Qur'an, which serves as the constitution for all Muslims.
Once again, it is necessary to condemn the relentless and catastrophic attacks by minor and major satanic regimes against our beloved homeland—attacks carried out with complete disregard for humanitarian and international norms, following their long-standing pattern of trampling accountability and creating obstacles on the path to unity and convergence among regional countries.
