ABNA24 - Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticized French President Emannuel Macron for failing to condemn Israeli attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure but expressing “concern” when Iran struck US-linked energy facilities in Qatar in retaliation.
“Macron has not uttered one word of condemnation of the US-Israel war on Iran. He didn’t condemn Israel when it blew up fuel storage in Tehran, exposing millions to toxins,"
“His current concern didn’t follow Israel’s attack on our gas facilities. It follows our retaliation. Sad!” Araghchi wrote.
The comment came after Macron said in a post on X that he had spoken with the Emir of Qatar and US President Donald Trump and expressed concern about attacks on energy facilities in Iran and Qatar.
On Wednesday, US-Israeli airstrikes targeted facilities in the South Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in the coastal city of Asaluyeh, home to the massive South Pars gas field, the world’s largest known gas reserve.
Iran responded by hitting US-linked energy facilities in several Persian Gulf countries.
