ABNA24 - Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, has extended condolences over the martyrdom of Major General Gholamreza Soleimani, head of Basij Volunteer Force.
In a message released on Tuesday, the Leader expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of the senior commander, praising his long-standing and extensive experience in serving the people.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the assassination of General Soleimani underscores the significant role of the Basij and reflects the deep fear harbored by the “malicious and humiliated enemy” in confronting the force.
He offered condolences to the family of the martyred commander, his colleagues in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and all members of the Basij.
General Soleimani lost his life in a US-Israeli airstrike on Tuesday, the 18th day of the ongoing war of aggression launched by the two regimes on Iran.
