AhlulBayt News Agency: Anti-war protesters gathered across the United States, including outside the White House and in New York’s Times Square to voice opposition with Washington’s involvement in the attacks that martyred the Leader of Islamic Republic.
Scores of protests were sponsored by coalitions including: the ANSWER Coalition, the National Iranian American Council, 50501, American Muslims for Palestine, the People’s Forum, Palestinian Youth Movement, CodePink, Black Alliance for Peace and the Democratic Socialists of America.
Protests erupted across Pakistan on Sunday after the United States and Israel confirmed the martyrdom of the Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in coordinated air strikes on Tehran.
The protests turned violent as clashes erupted between the police and demonstrators leading to the killing of more than 20 people in Karachi, Skardu (Kashmir region) and Islamabad.
Protests erupted in the Iraqi cities of Baghdad and Basra condemning the US-Israeli attacks that martyred the Leader of Islamic Republic plunging the war-torn Middle East into a new round of violent conflicts.
Yemeni protesters gathered in the capital city of Sanaa and multiple places on Sunday to denounce the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei besides massive civilian casualties, expressing Yemeni solidarity with the Iranian people.
The protests unfolded as U.S. and Israeli forces continued a second consecutive day of airstrikes against Iranian targets. In Sanaa, crowds of protesters flooded Al-Sabeen Square, waving Yemeni and Iranian flags while chanting anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli slogans. Similar demonstrations were reported in other provinces, reflecting widespread anger over the escalation that has heightened tensions across the Middle East.
Turkish cities were also the scene of protests with hundreds of protesters gathered outside the US consulate in Ankara.
In the city of Istanbul, the Anti-NATO and Anti-Imperialist War Union and the Istanbul Labor, Peace and Democracy Forces organized the protest against what they described as the US-Israeli imperialist and Zionist attack on Iran.
Political officials and representatives of trade unions, political parties, and democratic mass organizations attended the protest demanding that Turkey leave NATO and that US bases be shut down immediately.
A banner reading “We stand with the Iranian people against imperialist-Zionist attacks” was displayed, slogans were frequently chanted such as: “Imperialists, collaborators, remember the 6th Fleet,” “Down with US imperialism,” and “Imperialists will lose, resisting peoples will win.”
Protests have erupted in different countries as the United States and Israeli regime conducted series of joint military aggression across Iran.
