AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The annual Al-Quds Conference and Unity Iftar were organized in Karachi by the Palestine Foundation Pakistan, bringing together leaders from various political and religious parties, as well as representatives of Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities, human rights organizations, traders, lawyers, teachers and student leaders.
Speakers at the conference announced that the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan would be observed as International Al-Quds Day, with nationwide rallies, seminars and protest demonstrations to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to raise a strong voice against Israeli actions.
The event was held as part of the foundation’s nationwide campaign titled “Ramadan with Palestine.” Among those who addressed the gathering were Secretary General Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami, Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Pakistan Muslim League (N), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Pakistan Awami Tehreek, along with religious scholars and minority community representatives.
In a joint declaration, participants strongly condemned Israeli military actions in Gaza and Lebanon, calling for an immediate end to what they described as aggression. They criticized what they termed a “so-called peace board,” alleging that it aims to undermine Palestinian resistance and turn Gaza into a commercial project.
The speakers urged the Government of Pakistan to withdraw from any such initiatives and adopt a clear position that it will not support measures that go against the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. They also called on Muslim countries to sever diplomatic and trade ties with Israel and to adopt a unified strategy to provide practical support to Palestinians.
The conference expressed support for Palestinian resistance group Hamas and Lebanese movement Hezbollah, stating that they are struggling to defend their land against occupation.
Participants emphasized that the right of return for Palestinian refugees is an inalienable right recognized in United Nations resolutions. They demanded that a free and transparent referendum be held in historic Palestine, allowing all original inhabitants, including refugees living abroad, to decide their future.
