AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Community of the city of Maglaj in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized a “Ramadan Train” initiative with the participation of 700 children.
It took place at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, as an educational-cultural program to strengthen the new generation’s connection with religious values and mosques.
According to the Muslimsaroundtheworld website, it was also aimed at creating joy and happiness among children.
The “Ramadan Train” is a symbolic procession in which children move together in an orderly line, like a train, a symbol of their collective entry into the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan and an effort to strengthen the children's connection with the mosque and Islamic values, in a happy, educational and age-appropriate way.
The event began with an educational and recreational program in the Maglay Sports Hall, where children received special badges that enabled them to receive Ramadan gifts.
Then, an educational and entertaining program was held with the presence of Imam Salih Subasic and with the participation of Admir Kovacevic, coordinator of the Marriage and Family Department, which aimed to familiarize children with the concepts, meanings and importance of the month of Ramadan.
The ceremony was widely welcomed by families and a series of happy songs and pieces were performed, creating a spiritual and joyful atmosphere for the children and those present.
Then, the symbolic Ramadan Train procession began in the streets of the city, and the children marched in a long line to the Yusuf Pasha Mosque Square, also known as the Kursumli Mosque, one of the most important Islamic historical monuments of the city of Maglaj, which clearly depicted the connection of the new generation with the mosque and religious identity.
In the courtyard of the mosque, Ramadan gifts, prepared in cooperation with the Islamic community, the municipality and a group of benefactors, were distributed to the children.
The ceremony ended with the congregational prayer at the same time as the Maghrib prayer and the release of balloons into the sky, in an atmosphere full of joy and happiness over the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
This initiative has played an effective role in strengthening the religious spirit of children and instilling a love for Ramadan and the mosque from an early age, and helps to continue the Islamic identity in future generations.
