New Israeli resolutions aimed at intensifying land grab, illegal settlements: Hamas

The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas has slammed the Israeli cabinet approval to expand illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, warning that the regime's new decisions will not create any rights for the occupiers.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas has slammed the Israeli cabinet approval to expand illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, warning that the regime's new decisions will not create any rights for the occupiers.

In a statement on Sunday, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the Israeli expansionist plan was aimed at swallowing up all Palestinian land and displace its original inhabitants, calling the moves a real existential threat.

He said the new resolutions of the Netanyahu cabinet are also an attempt to harm the authorities of Palestinian municipalities and institutions, especially in Hebron, as imposing a fictitious sovereignty and changing geographical and legal realities are part of the agenda of the occupying regime.

Calling for national unity to resist occupation and stand against Israel's settlement, annexation, Judaization projects, the Hamas spokesperson noted that the Palestinians will never surrender to these occupation policies and will continue to adhere to their historical rights.

The statement continued by saying that Arab and Islamic countries should assume their historical responsibility in confronting the occupiers and their plans through practical and serious measures, including severing ties with the Israeli regime and expelling its ambassadors from their capitals.

At the end of the statement, Hamas also called on the United Nations, the international community and all international institutions to exert pressure on Israel to stop its aggression and punish officials for their continuous crimes against the Palestinian people.

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli cabinet approved measures that change the legal and civil framework in the occupied West Bank to strengthen Israeli control.

According to the Israeli media, the decisions included repealing a Jordanian-era law barring the sale of Palestinian land to Jews, unsealing land ownership records, and transferring building permit authority in a Hebron settlement bloc from the Palestinian municipality to Israel’s civil administration.
