Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem says that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the government of the 12th and last Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (AS), and the resistance is the path to hastening his reappearance.
In a video speech delivered during the Mid-Shaban ceremony in Iran’s Qom late on Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized the connection between Mahdaviat (the belief in the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AS), the savior of the world), Wilayah (guardianship), and resistance, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran represents the government of Imam Mahdi (AS) and the path of the Islamic Revolution will pave the way for the realization of the divine promise of his reappearance.
Highlighting the importance of Mahdaviat in humanity’s salvation, he said that Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) is the hope of all the oppressed in the world and is the definitive divine promise for establishing justice across the earth.
In discussing the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Qassem described it as an exceptional achievement on the path of Entezar (the patient waiting for the Imam’s return).
He said that the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA), particularly at a time of significant global arrogance, was a monumental step toward paving the way for the reappearance of the Imam Mahdi (AS). He emphasized that this path continues robustly under the wise leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Hezbollah chief further emphasized that the path of Imam Mahdi (AS) is inherently linked to Wilayah, adding, “Commitment to the leadership of velayat-e faqih (the rule by the supreme religious jurisprudent), standing against tyrants, the United States, and the Zionist regime, and self-sacrifice on the path of resistance are among the most important manifestations of true Entezar and efforts to hasten the reappearance.”
