AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Shia scholar and Member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Ayatollah Rashad, described the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) as the institution that “has played the most significant role in combating global terrorism,” adding that the EU’s decision to label the IRGC as a terrorist organization “will not solve any of their problems; rather, it will add to them.”
Ayatollah Rashad criticized Western support for armed groups and civilian casualties, stating: “The world knows who created ISIS and who defeated it. The support of the United States and Europe for the killing of women, children, and the elderly in Gaza has revealed the true face of terrorism.”
Turning to U.S. threats against Iran, he said: “The deceitful and aggressive United States, led by its president, threatens the Islamic Republic with military action, while past experiences show that America cannot withstand even a few days of confrontation and has previously sought—through multiple intermediaries—to halt operations.”
He added that U.S. claims about deploying military fleets are nothing new: “In previous rounds, a single serious warning was enough to push the American fleet hundreds of kilometers away from the Persian Gulf. This reflects their lack of real courage and psychological weakness.”
Ayatollah Rashad also criticized the U.S. president’s conduct, saying: “The level of insecurity and psychological complexes in his statements and theatrical behavior is evident. In contrast, Iran’s courageous and steadfast Leader—descended from the Prophet’s family—possesses historical wisdom and experience, and for more than three decades the United States has repeatedly failed in confronting him.”
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic is fully prepared and that “any potential aggression will be met with a decisive and irreversible response. The events of the June conflict showed how far the illusion of a limited and short‑term U.S. operation is from reality.”
Ayatollah Rashad concluded: “The IRGC is beloved by the Iranian people and a refuge for oppressed nations. The anti‑human‑rights actions of the United States and the European Union will not hinder the mission of this righteous institution.
