AhlulBayt News Agency: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described diplomacy as the only solution to Iran’s nuclear issue.
Speaking in a meeting with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Istanbul on Friday, Erdogan conveyed his warm greetings to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian.
He expressed confidence that the Iranian government and people will overcome the existing challenges with national unity.
Referring to the country’s consultations to reduce tension and return to the path of diplomacy, the Erdogan stressed that the region cannot afford an increase in insecurity.
Meanwhile, Araghchi appreciated solidarity and decisive positions of the government and people of Turkiye, especially President Erdogan’s statements in support of Iran’s national sovereignty and rejection of foreign interventions, emphasizing the unity and cohesion between Islamic countries in confronting the genocide, warmongering and expansionism of the Israeli regime.
He stressed strengthening solidarity between Islamic countries and the region to deal with threats and destructive interventions in the affairs of the regional countries.
For his part, Araghchi elaborated on the recent unrest in Iran, when violent and terrorist elements entered the peaceful gatherings of the people and led to violence, during which hundreds of people were killed.
Regarding nuclear talks, he said that Iran has never turned away from negotiation based on mutual respect for the legitimate interests.
