AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The seminar “The Prophet of Mercy (p.b.u.h); Inspiration for Global Dialogue” was held in-person and online. This meeting is part of a series of scientific sessions introducing the character and status of the Great Prophet (p.b.u.h), organized by the Office of Studies, Research, and Scholarship of the Scientific and Cultural Deputy of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in cooperation with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) News Agency - ABNA - and the Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) Short-Term Training Center.
In this session, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Hamid Montazeri-Moghaddam elaborated on the status of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the role of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in the history of Islam.
Referring to the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) as the Seal of the Prophets and the main axis of guidance for humanity, he said, “The struggles of AhlulBayt (a.s.) after the demise of the Prophet played a decisive role in preserving his status and caused the centrality of the Prophet to be consolidated in Islamic society.”
Hojat al-Islam Montazeri-Moghaddam further addressed some false accusations against Shiites regarding the status of the Prophet, adding, “Unfortunately, Shiites face accusations that they supposedly consider AhlulBayt (a.s.) higher than the Messenger of God, while the Shiite perspective has always been centered on the Prophet (p.b.u.h), and AhlulBayt (a.s.) are the complement and preservers of his status.”
He named two major threats to the Prophet’s status after his demise: cultural threats and political threats during the Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates. “The status of the Prophet faced hidden cultural and political threats from the very beginning, but the Shiite Imams, through continuous struggle, were able to keep the name and personality of the Prophet alive and consolidate his status,” he emphasized.
Hojat al-Islam Montazeri-Moghaddam added, “The intense mutual emotional bond between the Prophet and AhlulBayt, especially the relationship between the Prophet and Imam Ali (a.s.), played a significant role in preserving the axis of guidance for the Ummah.”
Referring to the event of Ashura, he described it as an example of the peak of enmity towards the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and AhlulBayt (a.s.), stating, “However, AhlulBayt (a.s.), through resistance and explaining the foundations of knowledge, elevated people’s understanding of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and defended the teachings of the religion under difficult conditions.”
Montazeri-Moghaddam described the connection between the Prophetic front of knowledge and AhlulBayt (a.s.) as evident and clear in all major events of the Islamic world, saying, “The mission and prophethood of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) brought unity and harmony to the Ummah. At a time when bonds of friendship were broken, and enmities were rampant, the Prophet (p.b.u.h) extinguished the fire of enmities and established affection and harmony among hearts.”
Hojat al-Islam Montazeri-Moghaddam referred to the statements of Imam Ali (a.s.) in Nahj al-Balagha, adding, “His method and words were the best means for guiding the Ummah and a shining lamp of guidance. AhlulBayt (a.s.) always played the complementary role to the Prophet and kept the current of guidance alive in the Islamic Ummah.”
He stressed, “The Shiite view of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) has always been centered on him, and AhlulBayt (a.s.) are not replacements, but rather the support and preservers of the Prophet’s status. Through their continuous presence, they have provided the grounds for guiding the Ummah throughout history.”
