AhlulBayt News Agency: The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated that the education of Palestine refugees has come under increasing attacks over the past few years.
In a post on the "X" platform today, Saturday, Lazzarini wrote that more than 600,000 children in Gaza have been deprived of formal education for over two years. He pointed out that these children are living through deep traumas amidst the rubble, and that returning them to a safe learning environment is a top priority for UNRWA.
Lazzarini explained that, currently, there are 65,000 children in UNRWA's temporary learning spaces in Gaza, in addition to approximately 300,000 other children receiving basic lessons in reading, writing, and arithmetic via digital platforms.
