The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN Office in Geneva, rejected the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution as politically motivated and null and void.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the UN Office in Geneva, rejected the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution as politically motivated and null and void.

In its statement published on its X account, the Iranain mission rejected the resolution, which was drafted and backed by hostile Western states, as devoid of any jenuine concern for human rights in Iran and politically motived.

The statement also said thatt the backers of the resolution have sanctions the Iranian nations for decades and have remained scilent in the face of last year aggression by the Zionist regime and the US which killed and injured over 5,000 innocent Iranains, therefore are in no position to talk about human rights in Iran.

Iran has strong, independent, and effective national mechanisms and therefore rejects any pretext for politicized foreign intervention, the statement also noted, adding that, on the orders of President Pezizkian, a comprehensive investigation into the rootcauses of recent events is underway.

All cases of detainees will be dealt with fairly, equitably and impartially, it said, adding that, the rights of Iranian citizens will be guaranteed under national independent legal processes.

At a special session of the HRC to examine the recent unrest in Iran on Friday, an anti-Iranian resolution was adopted by 25 votes to 7.
