AhlulBayt News Agency: The head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced the end of registration in the country for this year’s Hajj.
Alireza Rashidian said that so far, documents for more than 61,000 Iranian Hajj pilgrims have been submitted to the Saudi side for issuing visas.
He was speaking in a meeting of the Hajj Planning and Coordination Council, held in Tehran on Monday.
Despite the country’s conditions and the internet outage, with efforts and mobilization of forces, the work has not stopped, and so far, documents for more than 61,000 people have been submitted for visa, he noted.
Rashidian also highlighted the good capacities created for sending pilgrims to the holy sites in Iraq in the lunar Hijri month of Shaaban, saying that given the special occasions of this month and the return to normal conditions, the number of pilgrims is expected to increase compared to the month of Rajab.
Morteza Aghaei, the organization’s Atabat deputy director, said at the meeting that 60,000 capacities have been created for the month of Shaaban.
He said that 30 percent of pilgrimage trips will be by air and 70 percent by land.
Seyed Ali Marashi, head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center, also addressed the meeting, saying that out of more than 79,700 Hajj pilgrims introduced in the physical fitness system, 52,500 were approved.
Marashi added that 18,760 pilgrims have not been examined so far, and the number of unconfirmed people is 316.
