AhlulBayt News Agency: The holy city of Qom in Iran is ready to receive 2.5 to 4 million pilgrims taking part in ceremonies marking the Mid-Sha’aban Eid, an official said.

Hossein Mahmoudi, deputy head of the committee for serving pilgrims, made the remarks on the sidelines of a meeting held at the Qom Governor’s Office on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the auspicious occasion.

He said that according to estimates, between 2.5 and 4 million pilgrims will visit the city during the festive events and necessary capacities have been provided to serve them.

He noted that registration has been made for setting up 380 Moukebs (booths providing services and votive foods and beverages to pilgrims) by grassroots groups.

The Mid-Shaaban Eid, marking the birth anniversary of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent), falls on the 15th day of the lunar Hijri month of Shaaban.

Shia Muslims all over the world celebrated the auspicious occasion on Wednesday, February 4, this year.

Pilgrims from all over the country and abroad visit the holy city of Qom, especially the Jamkaran Mosque and the mausoleum of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), on this occasion every year.
