AhlulBayt News Agency: Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto has strongly condemned the United States’ military attacks on his country, describing them as a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and a serious threat to international peace and security.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, Gil Pinto said the Venezuelan government unequivocally condemns all forms of aggression against the nation, stressing that the US strikes constitute a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.
according to IRNA, he stated that the attacks were orchestrated by the United States and targeted residential areas, vital infrastructure, and both civilian and military facilities, including central districts of the capital, Caracas.
The foreign minister warned that any attempt to impose regime change in Venezuela is destined to fail, noting that similar efforts in the past have proven unsuccessful. “All attempts to change the governing system of our country, as before, will fail,” he said, reaffirming Venezuela’s determination to defend its sovereignty and national independence.
According to a statement by the Venezuelan government, the United States launched the attacks early Saturday, striking locations in Caracas as well as the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.
In response to the escalation, President Nicolás Maduro declared a state of emergency and ordered the full implementation of national defense plans “at the appropriate time and under the appropriate circumstances.”
