LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Pervez Rathore has said that Lahore Police has identified 184 possible trouble spots in the City, in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and sectarian harmony in the provincial metropolis during Muharramul Harram.

LAHORE - Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Pervez Rathore has said that Lahore Police has identified 184 possible trouble spots in the City, in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and sectarian harmony in the provincial metropolis during Muharramul Harram. The CCPO said all entry and exit points of the places of Majalis will be covered and roof top deployment will be made at Imambargahs, places of Majalis and route of the processions, whereas parking be made at a safe distance, preferably 200 meter, from venue of Majalis and precessions. Rathore further said police officers and more than 12 thousand police Jawans would provide security cover to 4000 Majalis and 640 processions, while armed personals would also be deputed to provide security to different programs to be held on daily basis.He informed in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere during Muharramul Harram, strict security plan has been chalked out after the consultation with leaders belonging to various schools of thought, whereas crises management centres have been established in the City, which would function around the clock, while a special control room would also be set up in the office of CCPO for coordination between various agencies. Similarly, Lahore Police force would provide security cover to 297 Imambargahas and 787 Mosques falling on the routes of procession. Rathore said code of conduct would be strictly implemented during Muharramul Harram and 1068 members of District Peace Committed would remain present on the routes of procession and Majalis especially at sensitive places. He said 134 mobile squad, 85 motorbikes, 75 cars, 11 cars of Elite Force would also be deployed on this occasion. He directed all divisional SPs to personally check the force deployment and patrolling of mobile squad in their respective areas, besides paying random visits to sensitive places. The CCPO said he would himself inspect various places also in order to review the security arrangements. 4 criminals heldGujjar Pura police have claimed to arrest 4 dacoits involved in multiple acts of crime including robbery, murder and vehicle snatching here on Friday. The police held them when they were planning for a criminal activity at China Scheme. The arrested culprits, later, were identified as Shehbaz, Abaad, Umair and Zubbari. The police recovered 4 pistols, 8 mobiles, 3 motorbikes and Rs 0.1 million. The arrested members also revealed their involvement in various acts of crime during preliminary investigation.
