AhlulBayt News Agency: UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed that a lasting peace in Palestine must be built upon the framework of a two-state solution.
In his address to the BRICS summit in Brazil, Guterres emphasized that true peace also requires an immediate and sustained ceasefire in Gaza, the unconditional release of all hostages, the free flow of humanitarian assistance, and an end to illegal annexation and ongoing violence in the West Bank.
He also raised alarm about the weaponization of artificial intelligence, warning that in today’s world—where peace is more urgent than ever—AI development demands a cooperative and justice-based global response.
“AI should not be controlled by a select few,” Guterres said. “It must be a benefit for all humanity, particularly for developing nations who deserve a meaningful role in shaping global AI governance.”
