AhlulBayt News Agency: Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan stated on Monday that Israel has failed to present any new proposals in the ceasefire negotiations over the past four weeks. He also criticized the United States for not clearly condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s rejection of ceasefire initiatives.
Hamdan accused Netanyahu of using the conflict with Iran as a political tool to boost his position ahead of potential early elections. He described this tactic as political blackmail at the cost of Palestinian lives.
He emphasized that Hamas remains committed to reaching a ceasefire agreement that would end the aggression and reopen border crossings. The group is working with mediators to secure a comprehensive deal, while maintaining that continued attacks will be met with resistance.
Hamdan said Hamas has submitted a full proposal for a just humanitarian agreement and reiterated the Palestinian people’s right to a fully sovereign state.
He also criticized the US administration, claiming it cannot act as a neutral mediator and instead focuses on shielding Netanyahu both domestically and internationally, despite his status as a “fugitive from international justice.”
Hamdan reaffirmed Hamas’s demand to end the aggression and protect Palestinian civilians, urging the international community to take a firm stance against the occupation and support justice for Palestinians.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli military campaign in Gaza—backed by the US—has resulted in around 190,000 Palestinian casualties, mostly women and children. Over 11,000 remain missing, and widespread famine has claimed many lives, including those of children.
