AhlulBayt News Agency: On Sunday, Israeli authorities delivered a final order to demolish the home of Palestinian citizen Mousa Nihad Badran in the Al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, located in Occupied Jerusalem.
He was instructed to carry out the demolition himself within 21 days, or he would be held financially responsible for the full cost of its demolition.
Since October 7, 2023, over 33 homes have been razed in Al-Bustan under what observers describe as a systematic displacement strategy that threatens many Palestinian families in the neighborhood.
According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces executed 74 demolitions across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem during May alone, impacting 121 structures—among them 60 residential units and 37 agricultural facilities.
The neighborhood of Silwan has emerged as one of the primary targets of home demolitions and land seizures in East Jerusalem.
Both international and Palestinian human rights organizations assert that Israeli authorities are purposefully restricting Palestinian construction in East Jerusalem while rapidly expanding settlement activity on occupied land.
