AhlulBayt News Agency: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that Israel’s aggression against Iran threatens regional security and risks escalating into a broader conflict across West Asia.
During a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Erdogan stated that Benjamin Netanyahu’s government poses a clear threat to the international system due to its “lawless attitude.”
Erdogan emphasized that the violence initiated by Israel’s attacks on Iran has endangered the security of the entire region, stressing that West Asia “cannot tolerate a new war.”
The Kremlin reported that Putin and Erdogan called for an immediate end to hostilities between Israel and Iran, urging that disputes, including those related to Iran’s nuclear program, be resolved through diplomatic means.
International condemnation of Israel’s actions continues to grow. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned that Western support for Israel could have disastrous consequences, urging Muslim nations to unite against the occupation.
Asif stated on X that Western backing of Israel’s leadership would fuel conflicts across the region, with repercussions extending beyond West Asia.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Minister Mohammadreza Zafarghandi reported that most victims of recent Israeli attacks on Iran were civilians, including many women and children.
Zafarghandi noted that medical teams across Iran have been actively treating those injured in Israeli strikes that began early Friday on Tehran and other cities.
On June 13, Israel launched unprovoked assaults on Iran, assassinating high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, killing over 70 civilians.
The Tel Aviv regime also carried out large-scale military operations inside Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential areas.
Iran responded by launching Operation True Promise III, firing a barrage of missiles toward Israeli-occupied territories on Friday night.
The operation commenced immediately after Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei delivered a televised message, stating that Israel would be “rendered helpless” following Iran’s military retaliation.
