Gaza health ministry warns of hospital shutdown amid Israeli bombardment

The Gaza health ministry has warned that repeated bombardments and evacuation threats are pushing the healthcare system toward collapse. Nasser Medical Complex remains the last major hospital serving hundreds of patients. Officials call for immediate international intervention to prevent a catastrophic health disaster.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Gaza health ministry has warned that ongoing threats of evacuation and bombardment around hospitals are severely disrupting medical operations. The ministry cautioned that these attacks could lead to the complete shutdown of the few remaining functional healthcare facilities, exacerbating the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Strip.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry highlighted that medical staff, patients, and the wounded are struggling due to the absence of safe corridors to reach hospitals. This situation places their lives at risk and obstructs the delivery of emergency medical care.

The ministry further noted that specialized health services at the remaining hospitals are under a suffocating blockade, facing critical shortages of medical supplies. It warned that the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse.

Officials pointed out that Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, is the last major medical center serving hundreds of patients and wounded individuals. Its closure would result in a catastrophic health disaster with unimaginable consequences.

The health ministry stressed that time has run out for temporary solutions that fail to meet even the minimum requirements of emergency and routine healthcare. It called for immediate and effective international intervention.

Additionally, the ministry condemned the Israeli occupation’s disregard for international organizations’ efforts to secure medical supplies, protect health facilities, and ensure safe passage for patients, the wounded, and medical teams.
