UN warns Gaza relief efforts may halt due to fuel shortages

Since the start of the conflict, humanitarian operations in Gaza have faced severe disruptions, with fuel shortages and restricted aid access exacerbating the crisis. The UN continues to push for international intervention, emphasizing the urgent need for a ceasefire and unrestricted relief efforts.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The United Nations has issued an urgent warning, stating that unless a solution is reached soon, humanitarian relief operations in Gaza could be completely halted in the coming days.

UN Secretary-General spokesperson Farhan Haq highlighted that fuel stocks in Gaza are critically low, placing immense pressure on essential services and relief efforts. He warned that the lack of fuel is severely impacting medical and humanitarian operations in the region.

Haq explained that the UN has repeatedly sought access to fuel supplies, yet Israel has denied these requests, preventing essential aid deliveries.

Reaffirming the UN's position, Haq called for an immediate permanent ceasefire, the release of all captives, and unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza to alleviate the crisis.

Additionally, the UN expressed deep concerns over attempts to obstruct ship movements in international waters, stressing that such actions pose significant risks to humanitarian efforts and global maritime security.
