Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem underlined the important role that Iran plays in the region.
Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Beirut on Wednesday, Sheikh Qassem praised Iran for supporting the resistance and the Palestinian nation.
“We thank the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khamenei, the president, the government and the people of Iran for their continued support for the Lebanese nation and resistance,” he said.
Sheikh Qassem explained the firm belief of Hezbollah and its tireless efforts to revive Lebanon and maintain its stability and sovereignty and expel the occupiers from the country.
Araghchi, for his part, stressed the importance of bilateral relations with Lebanon and Iran’s willingness to help the Arab country and stand alongside Lebanon on the basis of mutual respect and strengthening cooperation.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani, Araghchi and Sheikh Qassem discussed the latest developments in the region.
Iran’s top diplomat, who has traveled to Lebanon as part of a regional tour, also held talks with the Lebanese president, prime minister and foreign minister on bilateral ties and regional developments.
