AhlulBayt News Agency: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has described Israel’s ongoing military actions in Gaza as a “test of our collective conscience,” emphasizing the need for concrete action.
During the Shangri-La Dialogue, a major global security forum held in Singapore, Anwar highlighted the alarming rise in armed conflicts worldwide. He noted that the number of conflicts today is the highest since World War II, citing ongoing wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Myanmar, and Sudan.
Anwar stated, “Genocide in Gaza is a test of our collective conscience. The scale of destruction, the blatant violation of humanitarian norms, and the failure of institutions meant to uphold them demand more than sympathy; they require consistency and action.”
The United Nations has declared the Gaza Strip “the hungriest place on Earth,” warning that all 2.3 million residents face “catastrophic hunger.”
The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that at least 60 people were killed in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours.
Since Israel broke the ceasefire on March 18, 4,117 Palestinians have been killed and 12,013 injured.
The total number of Palestinian casualties since October 7, 2023, has risen to at least 54,381 killed—mostly women and children—with another 124,054 wounded.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former military affairs minister Yoav Gallant, citing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice regarding its war on the besieged coastal territory.
