AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli regime has deployed its entire standing army infantry and armored brigades to the Gaza Strip, marking a serious escalation in its 19-month-long war against the Palestinian territory.
The Israeli military announced that the deployed brigades include elite units such as Golani, Paratroopers, Givati, Commando, Kfir, Nahal, 7th, 188th, and 401st. Additionally, a limited number of reserve units have been mobilized for operations across the coastal region.
This military buildup follows the launch of "Operation Gideon’s Chariots," which directs Israeli forces to focus on northern Gaza and the southern city of Khan Yunis. Despite the escalation, Israeli media reports indicate that there has been no direct encounter between the military and Hamas resistance fighters.
Although Israel claims to be targeting resistance fighters, the war continues to inflict a devastating toll on Gaza’s civilian population. The ongoing military campaign has resulted in more than 61,700 deaths, with the majority being women and children. Hamas previously reported that over 19,000 children have been killed in the conflict.
The Israeli regime initiated its military offensive in October 2023 following Hamas-led operations that captured hundreds of Israeli soldiers and settlers. Israeli authorities have stated that the war will continue to escalate unless Hamas agrees to negotiations for the release of remaining captives.
However, Hamas and even some Israeli officials have accused the regime of deliberately obstructing negotiations or merely pretending to engage in diplomatic efforts. Meanwhile, international criticism has mounted over the staggering civilian casualties and reports of Israeli forces using Palestinians as human shields.
