AhlulBayt News Agency - Karachi based Muhtahida Quomi Movement (MQM) is responsible for Ashura 2009 blast, said a JIT report, after an activist of MQM told the Police during an investigation, reported Pak local media channels.
According to to report, Faisal Javed alias Faisal Mama disclosed before Joint Investigation Team, the new chapter behind the Ashura Blast that killed 45 innocent Shia mourners and injured hundreds of people on December 27, 2009, after a powerful bomb had ripped through the traditional mourning procession organised by the Shiite community in Karachi.
The blast had taken place near Denso Hall and had triggered a stampede. In the commotion and confusion that followed the blast, many miscreants had emerged from by-lanes and started torching shops in Boulton Market.
According to Faisal Mama of MQM, Hammad Siddiqui a key leader of MQM was mastermind, while the total planing was planned at MQM Headquarter called 90.
Arrested accused Faisal alias Mama has confessed carrying out blast on Ashura on Hamad Siddiqui’s order.
The accused told the investigation team that he is affiliated with the Ranchore Line sector of a political party. The bomb was purchased from Jodia Bazaar and it was made by Habib alias Langra while accused Junaid hid the bomb in the box of Quraani Ayats by a electric pole, Faisal confessed.
He also told the names of a dozen suspects involved in the blast adding that the Rabita Committee was fired on on the direction of Babar Ghori in whcih one person was killed.
Babar Ghori gave Rs 50,000 cash to each of the boys who carried out the firing.
The aim behind Ashura Blast was to open secterian clashes between Shias and Sunnis in order to weaken Pakistan, Faisal also told the team.
