AhlulBayt News Agency: The Palestinian Authority’s Education Ministry has strongly condemned Israel for its aggressive attacks on schools across the occupied West Bank.
In a statement released on Friday, the ministry described the escalating violations against schools and educational staff in the West Bank, East al-Quds, and Gaza as part of a systematic colonial aggression.
The ministry urged international organizations, human rights groups, and education advocacy bodies to intervene urgently and hold Israel accountable for its attacks on schools, universities, and educational institutions.
Local Palestinian media reported that Israeli forces stormed al-Munjid Private School in Bruqin and the Martyr Mazen Abu al-Wafa Basic School in Kafr ad-Dik.
Additionally, Palestinian Wafa news agency stated that Israeli bulldozers have begun excavation and demolition work next to Bruqin Girls’ Primary School. The forces also converted the as-Salam Kindergarten building in Kafr ad-Dik into a military outpost.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have destroyed or severely damaged numerous UNRWA schools and health centers in Palestinian territories.
The Organization of American Historians (OAH) recently passed a resolution condemning Israel for its “scholasticide” in Gaza, highlighting the destruction of educational institutions.
The Israeli military has bombed and largely destroyed all 12 universities in Gaza, along with hundreds of primary and secondary schools. More than 200 heritage sites, including mosques, churches, and libraries, have also been demolished.
Hamas has accused Israeli settler groups, backed by occupation forces, of continuing attacks in the occupied West Bank.
The latest assaults occurred at dawn in several villages in the Salfit governorate and northwest of Nablus. Hamas described the attacks as a dangerous escalation and called for increased resistance against settlers.
