Iran reaffirms commitment to peaceful nuclear energy under international law

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson reiterated the country’s peaceful nuclear energy policy, emphasizing legal foundation. AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has reiterated that the country remains committed to its peaceful nuclear program, emphasizing its adherence to international law. Speaking at his weekly press briefing on Monday, Baqaei affirmed that Iran, as a Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) member, has pursued its nuclear initiatives within legal frameworks since the 1970s. He emphasized that Iran’s stance on nuclear energy is rooted in logic and international regulations.

Baqaei also discussed Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi’s upcoming trip to Pakistan, describing the visit as part of ongoing diplomatic consultations with neighboring countries. Araqchi is expected to engage in talks on bilateral relations as well as key regional issues, with a focus on occupied Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.

Additionally, Baqaei announced that Araqchi would travel to India on Thursday to participate in the Joint Economic Commission, a step towards further economic collaboration and enhanced diplomatic engagement in the region.
