Iran condemns U.S. airstrikes in Yemen as war crimes, calls for regional action

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has strongly denounced the U.S. military's repeated airstrikes over the past 24 hours on various locations in Yemen’s Sanaa, Saada, and Al-Jawf provinces, which have severely impacted residential areas and critical infrastructure.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has strongly denounced the U.S. military's repeated airstrikes over the past 24 hours on various locations in Yemen’s Sanaa, Saada, and Al-Jawf provinces, which have severely impacted residential areas and critical infrastructure.

According to IRNA, Baqaei described the U.S. attacks as a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a serious breach of the United Nations Charter and international legal principles. He emphasized that targeting civilian neighborhoods and vital facilities constitutes war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Expressing deep concern over the United Nations’ and U.N. Security Council’s failure to act against these violations, Baqaei warned that continued U.S. military aggression in Yemen is escalating insecurity across the West Asian region. He urged regional nations to recognize their shared responsibility in countering U.S. actions, which he characterized as lawless and destabilizing.
