Gaza health director appeals for aid amid severe humanitarian crisis

Dr. Munir al-Bursh, Gaza's health director, accused Israel of exacerbating humanitarian suffering by depriving Palestinians of vital resources. He reported 40,000 children orphaned and over 100 deaths from restricted crossings, while hospitals operate under severe strain, urging global intervention to save lives.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director of Gaza’s health ministry, has condemned the Israeli occupation for committing acts that he described as extermination against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. He accused the regime of depriving the population of access to water, food, and critical aid, leaving one million children without life-saving resources.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, Dr. al-Bursh revealed harrowing statistics, stating that more than 40,000 children in Gaza have been orphaned, while 100 children have died waiting for the crossings to open. He pointed out that the indirect consequences of the ongoing conflict—such as shortages of medical care—have led to more deaths than direct attacks.

Dr. al-Bursh highlighted that Gaza's health infrastructure is on the verge of collapse, with only 20 out of 38 hospitals functioning partially. Additionally, over 360 healthcare workers have been abducted by the Israeli army, further deteriorating the region's ability to provide medical services.

He issued an urgent appeal to the international community and its institutions to take immediate action to support Gaza and its overwhelmed health sector, emphasizing the dire need for intervention to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
