Karbala hosts Quranic convention with participants from 18 nations

A gathering of Quran reciters and memorizers from 18 countries took place in Karbala, Iraq, bringing together participants from diverse regions to foster Quranic interaction and strengthen scholarly and spiritual connections.

According to IQNA, the event was organized by the Quran and Hadith Sciences Center, affiliated with the custodianship of Imam Hussein’s (AS) holy shrine, with the objective of promoting global Quranic partnerships and celebrating the shared dedication to the Quran.

Participants included Quranic activists from countries such as Senegal, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Comoros Islands, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Tajikistan, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Sheikh Ali Marza, head of the center, welcomed the participants, stating, “We are honored to host this Quranic group and remain committed to supporting and recognizing their service to the Book of God. Connecting Muslim hearts with the light of the Quran is the ultimate goal we strive to achieve through global cooperation.”

He further mentioned that the convention acknowledged the contributions and accomplishments of Quran reciters and memorizers. The gathering was part of the center’s annual initiatives to institutionalize the culture of the Quran, recognize Quranic talents worldwide, and underscore the Astan’s role in fostering scholarly and religious activities.

Sheikh Marza concluded by emphasizing the significance of such international programs in reinforcing the bonds of Quranic brotherhood among nations and promoting a spirit of scholarly and spiritual collaboration.
