AhlulBayt News Agency: Israel’s fresh strikes across the Gaza Strip have left at least 61 Palestinians killed, including two journalists, in a span of 24 hours.
The casualties were announced by the Health Ministry in Gaza on Monday, according to Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV network. The ministry said 134 Palestinians were also injured.
Israel resumed its military offensive in the Gaza Strip on March 18 in violation of a ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas.
The latest fatalities bring to 730 the number of Palestinians killed since the start of the renewed offensive that has also left 1,367 people injured.
Two journalists, identified as Mohammed Mansour and Hussam Shabat, were among those killed in the latest Israeli attacks. Hussam Shabat lost his life in a strike on Gaza City, while Mohammed Mansour was killed in an attack on his house in the southern city of Khan Yunis.
Since the onset of the Gaza war in early October 2023, the Israeli regime has killed 207 journalists as part of a campaign that Palestinians say is aimed at silencing their voice.
At least 50,082 people, mostly women and children, have been killed in Gaza since the start of the war. The real number is believed to be much higher, as Gaza officials say thousands missing are presumed dead.
