The Iraqi police say unidentified men have launched two Katyusha rockets near the northern city of Kirkuk, leaving no casualties.

The launch took place on Monday evening when unknown gunmen fired two rockets into a residential neighborhood south of Kirkuk, Voices of Iraq (VOI) quoted a local police source as saying. "The Katyusha rockets fired by unknown men landed in the Aruba district, but [left] no casualties," he said. The source added that police also found two launching pads and a malfunctioning rocket behind a school in the neighborhood, but refused to disclose further details. On Friday, a Katyusha rocket wounded a civilian when it landed near the local government headquarters of Kirkuk. Iraqi police also found the bodies of three men bearing signs of torture and gunshot wounds in the northwest of the city on Thursday, Reuters reported. The city of Kirkuk is located 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad. End item/109
